Summer EBT Program Information
In summer 2024, North Dakota will launch Summer EBT (SEBT) a new grocery benefits program that provides families $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out. Summer is a time when many children lose the free and reduced-price meals they get at school and when households might need a little extra help putting meals on the table. Most families will get these benefits automatically, but some parents will need to apply. The new program is in addition to free meals that kids of all ages can get at summer meal sites in their communities.
On Monday, April 15, 2024, parents, or guardians of eligible students will start receiving emails that provide information about the student's eligibility, how to update address information, or how to opt out of the program if they choose. We were not able to get email addresses for every eligible student. Parents or guardians may contact our office if they don’t get an email and want to know if they will receive benefits and/or update their address information.

There isn't just one day we celebrate our paraprofessionals; we celebrate and appreciate them all year! The prefix 'para' means alongside of, beside, near...that is exactly what these amazing professionals do in our school EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. We can't thank you enough for compassionately supporting and working with our students and staff, keeping us all going. You are true heroes, and we are incredibly grateful for all of you!

Here are your Spoiler Shoutouts for the month of March! Our Spoiler of the Month will be announced at the end of the day!
The North Dakota State Assessment window opens today. The NDSA is an important assessment for our school district, and it provides useful information about your child’s progress. Students in grades 7, 8, and 10 participate. Testing dates for each grade and test are on the attached images.
How can you help prepare for the state assessment? Please check out this important information:
*Be in school and on time during testing days
*Take the tests seriously and give your best effort
*Get to bed early the night before to be well-rested on the day of the test
*Have a good breakfast on the morning of the test
UPDATE: GPS will cancel all classes and activities for Tuesday February 27th due to travel and weather conditions.
Grafton School will be 2 hours late due to current weather conditions. There will be no morning ESP or PK.

Congratulations to Grafton Public School's FACS teacher, Katie Gorder! She is the sole North Dakota recipient of the 2023-24 Milken Educator Award and the recipient of $25,000. Grafton High School students and staff along with local and state officials and past Milken Award winners were in attendance when the surprise was announced! C-O-N-G-R-A-T-S to the 12 spellers who competed in the Grafton School Spelling Bee. Eighth-grader Max Sillers was named the top speller for the second year in a row with the winning word, lavish. Max, along with sixth-graders Jesly Hernandez and Lizzy Garza, and fifth-grader Ricky Rice will move on to the Walsh County Spelling Bee on February 13th. Way to go Spoiler spellers!

Free family event today through Tuesday! It's Grinch Scavenger Hunt Time. Check out the attached flyer for details! Forms will be sent home with students in grades PK - 6. Students in grades 7-12 can pick up a copy in the high school office.
