As the new year starts, we want to send a reminder of law and legal requirements to stop when a bus has it's stop arm extended and flashing. If you are caught breaking that law, there is a $250 fine and 6 points off your license. If you're under 18, 6points off your license will actually cancel your license and you won't be able to get a work permit. In order to get your drivers license again, you will need to complete Drivers Ed, pass a permit test and eventually your driving test again in order to get your license. Bus drivers are told to contact police when people drive past their extended stop arms, and community members are urged to contact police if they see anyone driving around the extended stop arms. So far three students have been pulled over since school started. Use the image to see the guides for stopping with the different types of laned roads. Let's work together to keep our students and staff on the buses safe.

Subject: Important Update: PowerSchool Vendor Data Breach
Dear Parents and Guardians,
TL;DR: A nationwide breach involving PowerSchool’s support portal has impacted some student and teacher data.
Out of an abundance of caution, access to PowerSchool has been temporarily locked down as of 12:00 PM today for any user who is not connected to the state network, StageNet This means that access from outside the school network will be unavailable after this time. North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) is working with PowerSchool and districts to evaluate the scope of the incident.
We also recommend changing your PowerSchool password as a precaution.
We want to provide you with the details of this incident and what steps are being taken to ensure the security of your information.
What Happened:
• On December 28, 2024, PowerSchool discovered unauthorized access to certain data in one of their customer support portals (PowerSource).
• PowerSchool identified that only specific users whose information was marked in certain system configurations may have been affected.
What’s Being Done:
• PowerSchool has activated its cybersecurity response protocols and brought in third-party cybersecurity experts.
• Access to the affected portal has been secured.
• PowerSchool has confirmed there is no evidence of malware or ongoing unauthorized activity.
Next Steps for Parents:
• Change your PowerSchool password as a precaution. Create a strong password that you do not use for other accounts.
• Monitor communications from your school for updates as additional information becomes available.
• The next update on this incident will be sent out on January 17 by noon.
Key Points to Know:
• PowerSchool continues to investigate and will provide updates if any new findings emerge.

We want to take a moment to celebrate and thank two amazing UND graduate student Speech-Language Pathology clinicians who have been part of our journey these past few months. 💙 Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to growth have made such a positive impact on everyone they’ve worked with. From the hours of preparation and creative therapy ideas to the genuine care they’ve shown to each student, they’ve brought so much heart and energy to our team. We’ve seen firsthand the difference you’ve made—and we are so proud of the clinicians and professionals you’re becoming. 🌟 The future of this field is brighter because of your passion and hard work! Thank you for sharing your talents with us, and for inspiring us along the way. Wishing you all the best in your continued journey! 🥰
