Inclement Weather

Late starts, early dismissals, and cancelations will be announced through Instant Alert Messaging. School closing announcements are also broadcast on the local radio and TV stations.

School cancelations or postponements will be as follows:

• The decision to close or delay school will be made as early as possible.

• Grafton Public Schools will be using an automated instant alert messaging system if school will be delayed, canceled, or dismissed due to severe weather conditions.

• Announcement are made on local radio stations: KXPO - 1340 AM and KAUJ - 100.9 FM and TV Station: WDAZ - Channel 8.

Delayed start for all schools*:

• 1 hour late - 9:30 am

• 2 hours late - 10:30 am

* staff should report to school 30-minutes prior to start time

Early dismissals for all schools:

• 1 hour early - 2:30 pm

• 2 hours early - 1:30 pm

Early morning, extended school program, activities, practices, and field trips:

• If the start of school is delayed due to weather conditions, there will be no ESP, morning preschool, practices, before school activities, or field trips.

ESP, activities, practices, field trips if school is dismissed early or cancelled:

• If school is dismissed early or cancelled due to weather conditions, there will be no after school ESP, afternoon preschool, practices, or school activities.

Weather related absences:

• Staff absent from school due to weather related conditions will be required to take personal leave.

• Students who are unable to make it to school or are late due to weather related conditions will be marked excused.
