Illness Guidelines

School Illness Guidelines:

  • Children should not attend school if they have a fever of more than 100.4 F.

  • Children should not attend school if they are vomiting.

  • Children should not attend school if they have diarrhea.

In addition, we advise that children:

  • Remain home for 24-hours after they are fever free without the use of over-the-counter products (Motrin, Tylenol).

  • A minimum of 24-hours after the last bout of vomiting or diarrhea.

We want children to feel good and get the most out of their day. Please support this by following the above guidelines and letting your child recuperate before returning to school. Please call the school nurse (352.1930) if you have any questions or concerns.

A child who is sick will not be able to perform well in school and is likely to spread the illness to other children and staff. If your son/daughter becomes ill at school and we feel the student is too sick to benefit from school or is contagious to other students, you will be called to come and take him/her home from school. It is essential that we have a phone number where you can be contacted during the day and an emergency number in the event you cannot be reached. If your daytime or emergency phone numbers change during the year, please inform the office so that we can update your information.
